FOLLOW PEACE WITH ALL MEM
BIBLE PASSAGE: Joshua 10:3-5 So Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem appealed to Hoham king of Hebron, Piram king of Jarmuth, Japhia king of Lachish and Debir king of Eglon. "Come up and help me attack Gibeon,” he said, “because it has made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.” Then the five kings of the Amorites—the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish and Eglon—joined forces. They moved up with all their troops and took up positions against Gibeon and attacked it.
WORD FOR TODAY
Most of the fights people involve themselves in are not even their own. How can you join someone in a quarrel simply because he has made peace with a supposed enemy?
A great city, Gibeon, made peace with the Israelites, but the king of Jerusalem became angry with them.
He then called four other nations to join him in fighting against the Gibeonites, but the story changed. The four nations and their kings all died.
Choose your battles. Know whom to stand with and whom to support. When the Scripture says “follow peace with all men”, there is a reason for it.
Do not let anyone recruit you into hating a person who has done you no wrong. Do not put yourself in a position where God stands against you.
PRAYER: Lord, thank you for your Word that teaches me wisdom today. Jesus, teach me to stand with You, with truth and with peace.
