They were chosen for it. And it’s a privilege you can’t take for granted.

That quote hits hard, especially for Christian men who feel like they are doing all the “right things” - praying, working hard, staying out of sin - yet still not seeing the kind of wealth they hoped for. Let’s take this moment to deeply analyze what this means for you as a man of God, and how to prepare your heart, your hands, and your household.
1. Is Wealth Random or Appointed?
No, wealth is not random. The Bible supports the idea that certain people are anointed or graced to handle wealth. It says:
“But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth...” — Deuteronomy 8:18
This “power to get wealth” is not evenly distributed. It’s a grace, a spiritual and intellectual wiring, coupled with discipline, sacrifice, vision, and sometimes, mentorship or exposure that triggers it.
So yes - in a way - some men are chosen. But being chosen is not enough. The unwise rich end up in ruin. The wise rich build legacies.
2. What Should the Christian Man Do With This Truth?
If you're not currently rich, don’t be discouraged. Here’s what you should do instead:
Understand the Laws of Wealth Creation
Just like salvation has laws (believe, confess, repent), so does wealth:
- Law of seedtime and harvest (Genesis 8:22)
- Law of diligence (Proverbs 10:4)
- Law of planning (Luke 14:28)
- Law of value — solve problems that matter
- Law of access and favor (Esther 2:17)
Knowing this helps you realize: It’s not magic. It’s system-based.
Recognize Your Spiritual Authority
Being born again doesn’t mean you are rich - but it gives you access to God’s wisdom. The problem is: many Christian men don’t activate this access. You must:
- Write down vision (Habakkuk 2:2)
- Ask God for divine connections
- Work with your hands while watching in prayer
There’s a reason many ungodly men still build wealth - they understand natural laws, even if they ignore spiritual ones. As a Christian, you should not ignore either.
3. The Danger of Envy
When you see a man prospering - whether he's godly or not - don’t default to jealousy. That posture can block your own door. Here’s a better response:
“Lord, what can I learn from this man’s diligence, systems, courage, or favor? And what portion of mine have I not activated yet?”
There are things to admire, not idolize.
4. Is It Fair That Some Are Chosen?
Fairness is not the point. Purpose is.
The real question is: “What were you chosen for?”
Some were chosen to fund missions. Others to teach, lead, build, mentor, or protect. Every role is needed. But if you feel called to influence through wealth - prepare for it intentionally.
Even among the 12 disciples, not everyone handled the purse (John 13:29). But some were strategically placed - Joseph of Arimathea, Lydia the merchant, Abraham, Job, and David were all wealthy in the will of God.
So don’t let unfairness blind you to God’s unique assignment for you.
5. How Christian Men Can Position for Wealth
Here’s a path to follow if you’re serious about walking into your season:

| 7. Stay humble and generous | Wealth is a trust, not a trophy | Deuteronomy 8:10–14 |
Final Thoughts
Akon’s quote reminds us of something spiritual behind material wealth - a calling, a responsibility, a wiring. It may look like luck, but it's often long suffering, painful obedience, and divine orchestration.
If you’re a Christian man, know this:
- You are not forgotten.
- But you must choose to stop waiting passively.
- Ask: “What is my path, Lord?” Then run it with everything you’ve got.

I confess that building wealth is hard, and I cannot do it without You.
I ask for Your wisdom, Your favor, and Your divine connections.
Help me identify the role You have chosen for me — and walk in it boldly.
Make me a faithful steward of little so I may handle much.
Deliver me from envy, delay, and blindness to opportunity.
And when You lift me, let my life give You glory.
